Vrouwen voor Vrede
is een beweging die zich inzet voor een rechtvaardige verdeling van welvaart en welzijn, gelijkwaardige behandeling van mensen en geweldloze oplossing van conflicten. Vrouwen voor Vrede probeert haar doelstellingen te bereiken door onder meer actie te voeren en door werkgroepen op te zetten.
Het internationale netwerk
Vrouwen in 't Zwart,
bestaat sinds 1990 en is als beweging begonnen in Israël, toen een aantal Israëlische vrouwen zich aansloot bij de Palestijnse Vrouwen Vredesbeweging. Tijdens de wekelijkse wakes wordt in het zwart gedemonstreerd.

In het jaar 2000 heeft de VN-Veiligheidsraad voor het eerst in de geschiedenis een
sessie
aangenomen. Naast bescherming van vrouwen als slachtoffer van gewapende conflicten pleit deze resolutie ook voor deelname van vrouwen aan besluitvorming en vredesonderhandelingen en voor het toepassen van een genderperspectief bij vredesoperaties.
